If you weren’t able to join us for Fly Night this year, we want to bring you into the heart of the evening.
This year, we shifted our focus.
Instead of celebrating where the journey with Free 2 Fly ends and their new chapter begins we chose to honor where the hard work happens. In the now.
The work that often goes unseen, but changes everything.
Because this is where transformation truly begins.
Watch Their Stories
These are stories of women doing the hard, steady work of rebuilding and choosing, day by day, to move forward.
Jessica: Learning Stability for the First Time
Jessica is in Phase 1.
This is where foundations are built:
- Counseling begins
- Weekly check-ins create accountability
- Financial literacy is learned
- Basic needs are stabilized
And it’s already changing everything.
“I am have been through an enrichment class, Financial Peace, and have learned so much about budgeting"
Because of that, Jessica has:
- Opened her first checking and savings account
- Saved $500
- Paid off her car loan
But the transformation doesn’t stop at finances.
“Community is key to my healing journey… it is a support system I never knew existed. It means the world to me.”
And in one of the most powerful moments she shared:
“I didn’t have a relationship with my son… Free 2 Fly has given me the courage to reach out to him so I can be the mother he can be proud of.”
And that night, he was there. Sitting in the room. Listening to his birth mother tell her story. It was a simple moment, but a powerful one.
Because this is what the work looks like. Not just financial progress. Not just stability. But restored relationships.
Her words say it best:
“Free 2 Fly is not just a job… it is financial freedom, emotional freedom, and spiritual freedom.”
Berlyn: Building Momentum
Berlyn is in Phase 2.
She described what life felt like before:
“For years, I felt like I had the weight of the world on my shoulders"
And what’s changed:
“Free 2 Fly has helped me find a supportive community.”
Today, she has:
- Paid off a title loan
- Gotten car repairs
- Met savings goals
- Secured a rental home for herself and 3 children
But what stood out most wasn’t just what she’s doing. It’s what she’s found.
“I am realizing the importance of giving myself grace so I can extend that grace to my children”
And the kind of community she now seeks:
“People who will accept me for who I am today while encouraging me to continue to grow.”
Why This Matters
These are not “after” stories. These are right-now stories. Learning how to budget, showing up to counseling, rebuilding relationships, and taking the next step, even when it’s hard.
This is what real transformation looks like.
Not instant.
Not easy.
But long lasting.
